1.    Table action – The most important thing in your dining room and what should take centre stage is your table, if you cannot afford to buy a new dining set but you would like a change, why not try a new table cloth or runner. Table clothes and runners can really transform your table to make it look brand new. It also adds a little bit of colour to the room. This is also ideal if you have a plan room with little colour.

2.    Style Mats – Another way to transform your dining room table is buying a set of new mats, they can add some lovely colour to your room but also protect your table from scratches and spillages.  Try and choose a colour that will go with your room or a pattern that is eye catching but for the right reasons.

3.    Splash The Colour- Why not add some colour to your walls by adding some art or even pictures, a nice touch is some family photos in a bold frame. If you have cream walls try adding some pictures that are in a black frame, this will make them stand out and can transform your room by just adding a little touch.

4.    Time For New Curtains- A good way to make your room look different is by changing your curtains or blinds, this really can make a huge change to the room, and if you’re feeling brave you can go for a bolder colour or pattern which can make your room look more homely. Try to match your curtains with something else in the room.

5.    Light Up Your Room- Some dining rooms can suffer when it comes to lighting, so if you are going for a cosier feel to the room why not try adding lamps to the room instead of the standard ceiling light. Lamps can give a nice glow to the room which can transform your room instantly.

6.    Create a centre piece for your table- whether you have a table that you like or don’t like, by adding a centre piece it gives you and your guests something else to focus on. It can make the oldest or newest of tables look lovely and it does not have to cost much. Why not try adding some candles to the table. Candles can make a lovely centre piece, Try placing coloured candles on a nice dish, if you have a large table you can have maybe three candles or two large candles at the centre. This is a great idea if you like dinner parties or cooking for friends. It can really set a nice tone and atmosphere to the room.
